This instruction implements AFPD 48-1, Aerospace Medical Program and Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 1205.9, October 6, 1960, portions of DoDD 1332.18, Separation from the Military Service by Reason of Physical Disability, February 25, 1986, and DoDD 6130.3, Physical Standards for Appointment, Enlistment and Induction, May 1994. It establishes procedures, requirements, recording, and medical standards for medical examinations given by the Air Force.
