Milk and milk products, to be acceptable for serving at Navy and Marine Corps facilities ashore and afloat, must originate from an approved establishment whose name appears in a Directory of Sanitarily Approved Establishments for Armed Forces Procurement. Authorized exceptions follow below:

1. Establishments having a pasteurized milk compliance rating of 90 percent or higher, certified by a State Milk Sanitation Officer and listed in the Sanitation Compliance and Enforcement Ratings of IMSL. The IMSL is published quarterly by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, USPHS, FDA, Center for Food and Applied Nutrition, Office of Compliance, Division of Cooperative Programs, Milk Safety Branch.
 
2. Establishments listed in the Dairy Plants Surveyed and Approved for USDA Grading Service. This list is published quarterly by the USDA, Marketing Service, Dairy Division, Dairy Grading Section.
